We continue this tutorial of Drawgirl by explaining and illustrating the eighth step of this pastel portrait painting.

Carefully observe the reference model and apply the same technique described in step 7, here. This time focus your attention on the visible ear and on the neck areas. We are still in the preliminary stages, so it does not have to be that exact, and since this is art and not science, the tonal values can be rendered close enough and still be acceptable.
